The story of DGM begins with the father of Mr. Daniyelu Geddam, the father of Mr. Paul Raju, who was the very first to say “Yes” to Jesus Christ in a land filled with over 33 million gods in India. His bold decision to follow Christ brought the gospel into his family for the very first time. Through him, a seed of faith was planted that would one day grow into a ministry reaching many for Christ.
That seed of faith took root in the next generation through his son, Pastor Paul Raju, who was born in 1981 in Andhra Pradesh, South India. Though his early years were troubled by destructive habits, the faithful prayers of his wife Leela and his parents paved the way for God’s mercy. While working as an electrician, tragedy struck Paul Raju was electrocuted and declared dead after falling from an electrical pole. His lifeless body was carried home, where his family and fellow believers prayed with tears and faith. In that moment, God miraculously restored his life. This turning point led Paul Raju to encounter Jesus Christ in a divine visitation that completely transformed him. He surrendered his life to God’s call, and began his ministry journey with street evangelism, prayer, and gospel preaching. Since 2001, he has been faithfully serving as a pastor, missionary, and visionary leader, proclaiming Christ’s love and building God’s Kingdom.
The ministry’s name, however, carries yet another powerful testimony. Soon after the death of Pastor Daniyelu, the father of Pastor Paulraju, the Lord blessed the entire family with their firstborn son. However he was born lifeless – no cry, no breath, no movement. Once again, the family and community fell to their knees in prayer. God answered with another miracle: life returned to the child. Out of this miraculous moment, the name Daniel Gospel Ministries was chosen, signifying that the gospel work of our family and Effectiveness ministry truly began with Daniel’s life.
Our ministry bears the name Daniel not only to honor the miracle of our firstborn son but also as a continuation of the faith legacy of our grandfather Daniyelu, the first believer in our family. Through his faith, through Pastor Paul Raju’s transformation and calling, and through the miracle of new life given to Daniel, the Lord confirmed His plan for this ministry. “Pastor Paulraju emphasizes the truth that “Service to mankind is service to God”, and he lives by Christ’s command to “Love your neighbor as yourself.” His heart is anchored in this conviction: God is love. Love God. Love people. As Paul declared, “For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” (Phil. 1:21). God has been using Pastor Paulraju, his wife, and their sons mightily for His glory in building the Kingdom of God. The family prays continually, serves faithfully, and labors together for the gospel. They invite you to encourage them through your prayers and to stand with them in their vision and mission to reach the unreached, equip the church, and glorify Christ among the nations.
